NAME: Jinguji Jakurai

BACKGROUND: Jakurai's own background is a little muddled, especially given that we don't have the full details surrounding his past. Things that we do know about him and the world in general:

✄ WWIII has happened and drastically dropped the world's population.

✄ Jakurai spent at least 10 years as an assassin with a 100% kill rate (???)

✄ He became a military medic and served overseas, putting himself in danger when under attack by terrorists. He did it for the people and his background as an assassin seemed to help in that regard.

✄ He learned how to rap, less for the offensive factor and more to offer healing, support and boosts to himself and those around him. He was a member of The Dirty Dawg along with Ichiro, Samatoki and Ramuda, but the circumstances surrounding the break up of the group are still unknown.

✄ He is currently a doctor helping out the less fortunate, Matenrou came to be when Doppo first brought Hifumi to him to help with a stalker issue. He found them to be interesting and asked them to form a team with him. Matenrou won the division battle.

PERSONALITY: From the outside Jinguji Jakurai doesn’t seem like he should be all that difficult to sum up, a former military doctor with a need to serve those that are the most in need, almost to a selfless degree. Fortunately, that doesn’t completely describe him; he manages to be wonderfully simple and strangely complicated at the same time. Due to his background working as a military medic and his current success he seems to be held in high regard by the general public. He seems to accept the role of genius doctor with a surprising amount of grace and humility, never seeming to let it affect his projected aura of an incredibly humble man.

It would be fair to say that he’s a normal man living a relatively normal life in a completely abnormal world under extreme circumstances. He seems to be interested in giving people the respect that they are due, almost akin to living by the golden rule. While he’s capable of building up a conversation with almost anyone he encounters, most of the time he appears to be more introspective and unassuming. His tendency to lose himself in thought seems to be less about spacing out and more about carefully choosing his words or making sense out of the current situation. He is drawn to the strange and unusual, finding them interesting and fascinating. This ties into his current relationship with both Doppo and Hifumi, so while he finds them to be extremely interesting he also considers them to be friends. He likes extending invitations to them to go fishing during his time off and takes care of them when he can. Doppo did start out as just a patient after all and Hifumi was brought to him for help, despite how trying the both of them can be he manages to maintain a great deal of patience when dealing with their issues.

He’s well-spoken and polite until someone gives him a reason not to be, even he has his limits; especially when it comes to people like Ramuda. He puts a great deal of faith into the idea of respecting your elders and having decent manners, so walking away from the middle of a conversation is something he might perceive as being rude. That is, of course, unless someone has a good reason to walk away.

Mysterious aura aside, he’s a very mature man and as such he finds it difficult to connect with those that refuse to take things seriously. That doesn’t mean that he won’t try, but don’t expect his nerves not to be a little rattled. As someone that is willing to selflessly step into a dangerous situation to ensure the safety of others, he also has a problem with those that seem to have little regard for the people around them. Once someone crosses a line and shows a blatant disregard for life or abuse of power he begins to lose respect for them, once things reach that point it’s very difficult for him to forgive and forget. This seems to be the case with Ramuda, one of his former teammates; the circumstances around the falling out are still a little fuzzy but he has blatantly said that he won’t be able to bring himself to like him at all.

He seems to consider himself rather adaptable, able to go with the flow (haha) and act accordingly in almost any situation. He was willing to learn how to rap to give his medical skills a boost and offer support where it was needed. He wasn’t always a doctor, spending at least 10 years as an assassin with an impressive success rate there as well; there are indications that it’s because of his former profession that he became a doctor and puts such emphasis on life and humanity. This, of course, hasn’t been fully explored in canon; so for now that particular aspect of his personality will remain part of his mysterious vibe. Aside from getting a little heated during battles, the only time that he displays anything other than kindness and patience is when he’s given a drink. When faced with the opportunity to have a drink, he will try to abstain but finds it difficult to refuse if someone pushes the matter even just a little bit. He doesn’t want to be rude, even if he finds himself unable to remember what happened after that first drink. The truth is he probably doesn’t want to remember what happened the night before, even one drink renders him completely unable to control his temper or his words. He’s a terrible drunk; loud, mean and violent to the point that Doppo and Hifumi found their experience to be completely traumatising.

All things considered he’s a friendly man and fairly well-balanced, just don’t give him a drink if you want him to stay that way.

POWERS/ABILITIES: Like the others that came here from his world, with the usage of his microphone he is able to use his skills to heal people, soothe them or offer boosts during battles.

He obviously is very skilled as a doctor as well.
